About my practice

  • I offer sessions at Studio 34, located at 4522 Baltimore Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19143. Please note that there is a steep flight of stairs leading up to the space.

There is ample street parking near the studio, which is also accessible by transit.

Near our massage room, you’ll find single-occupancy, gender-neutral restrooms, as well as water and tea stations. Studio 34 is a wonderful community space that hosts yoga classes, art events, performances, and a range of wellness offerings.

  • Payment is due at or before the time of service. As much as possible, please avoid canceling our session within 24 hours. If late cancellations become routine, I may decline to add you to my schedule.

I accept payment via cash, check, PayPal, and Venmo. I don’t accept tips.

  • I grew up in Portland, Oregon, and lived a few different lives—as a filmmaker, educator, and tech industry professional—before coming to my current work as a massage therapist.

I studied massage at East West College in Portland and relocated to Philly in summer 2024. My training focused on a holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed approach to bodywork. When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy reading, laughing, and hanging out in Clark Park.

  • My therapeutic presence has been described as gentle, nourishing, patient, and supportive. I believe that massage is most effective when we approach this practice with curiosity and an open mind. My goal during each session is to ensure that clients feel safe and in control; my hope for all clients is that our work can help them trust and befriend their bodies.

I typically use moderate, firm pressure, although I employ deep tissue techniques to facilitate powerful change in the body. My approach is highly customizable and I will tailor your session to the needs that are present when we meet. I do not believe that massage should be painful or distressing.

  • New clients, please arrive 15 minutes before your session. Returning clients should arrive 5-10 minutes early.

When you arrive at Studio 34, you’ll enter from Baltimore Ave. and walk up a steep set of stairs. I’ll strive to greet you at the top of the stairs, but if I’m not there, please feel free to take a seat in the lounge and wait for me to find you.

If you haven’t completed an intake form recently, I’ll give you one to fill out. Then we’ll chat briefly about how you’re feeling and what you need from your session. After we check in, I’ll step out of the room while you dress down and get settled on the table. You’ll hear me knock before I re-enter and begin our session.

During the session, I encourage you to ask questions and share feedback. I’ll check in and provide occasional instruction, too. With that said, please don’t feel pressure to make conversation: this is your time to relax. If you want to focus on your breathing, zone out, or take a little snooze, that’s just fine.

  • My pricing is inclusive of gratuity and I don’t accept tips. This is my policy because it makes our business transactions and professional relationship more straightforward.

As a client, you know exactly what you’ll be paying, and you don’t have to wonder if you should tip, how much you should tip, what I think of your tipping practices, etc. You are only responsible for a single price that we’ve agreed upon.

As a practitioner, I have predictable income, and I don’t have try to interpret or anticipate your tipping. I won’t feel disappointed or insecure if you don’t tip, nor will I feel guilty or obligated if you do!

In other words, tipping won’t muddle our relationship or influence the power dynamic between us. I find that this policy allows clients to be present, communicative, and comfortable.

  • In addition to my private practice in West Philly, I’m also delighted to offer sessions at Sanctuary on 9th in the South St. Headhouse District. You can book a session at Sanctuary here.
